Events & Workshops
Grow On Katikati runs monthly events to help our members gain the knowledge and tools to achieve success, to meet like-minded others in our commUNITY, and to have some great fun along the way!
We run workshops every second month, and interspace those with other events like movie inspiration nights, social events, and fundraisers.
We like to keep it local and work with the expertise of those in our commUNITY wherever possible! Our tutors are a smart bunch who impart information with passion and a simplicity that all can understand.

Grow On Shed
Reminder: we will continue to open every 1st & 3rd Saturday 9.30-11am until further notice.
Saturday 7 November: 9:30am–11am
Crop Swap & Seedling Pick up
Bring along your surplus produce, seedlings, seeds, plants, or garden tools and enjoy a morning of swapping, sharing and connecting with fellow gardeners.The swap starts at 10am.
Saturday 21 November: 9.30-11am
Monthly Seed Sowing Session
We’re always grateful for an extra pair of hands — so if you’ve got a spare half hour, pop in and join us.
Moving forward, we will need a Seed Sower for the 3rd Saturday each month - it involves 2 hours - setting up and packing down after seed sowing, please get in touch if you can volunteer your help.

Plant Pest & Disease Identification
Saturday, 21 November
10:30 AM -12:00 PM
Gayani Rathnayake is an adult educator with a BSc in Agriculture and an MSc in Plant Cell and Tissue Culture.
She has a strong focus on practical hands-on learning for community groups and will be presenting this exciting workshop for us.
Her talk will include a slide show presentation, as well as actual topical specimens, and she will share some easy remedies to use in the backyard.
Gayani has a couple of very impressive degrees in horticulture, so we are super excited to have her do a talk for us.
